i didn't really have a chance to play with the pixel 3 before i wiped the data and reset it to factory default. but before i did that, i took some comparison photos using my different phones to see which was came out on top. the pixel 3 photo was sharper and brighter. the iphone 5s - which up until tonight i thought took the best photos - seemed hazy. the oneplus one was grainy and dark. once the pixel 3 XL arrives, i'll definitely do more comparison photos, but in the meantime i like what i've seen with the google photo camera. the phone specs itself is not that impressive, and there's things to gripe about (like not having expanded storage, which seems to be common with all google phones), but i'm really getting it because it has the best camera on an android phone.
i received an e-mail from DNCL_techzone later in the evening to let me know they accepted my return request. unfortunately because they're a third party amazon vendor, i have to pay for the return shipping. i took a closer look at the fine print, and they said they reserved the right to charge a 20% restocking fee if you simply return the phone because you made a mistake ordering it. i hoping because i ordered the replacement pixel 3 XL with them as well, they will be lenient and simply issue a full refund.
