i was up until almost 3am last night watching the recruit on netflix. i managed to finished the first two episodes, can't wait to watch the rest. i tried continuing watching kleo but it's too dark, tough to watch before bed.

this morning i went with my parents on a foodpak express supply run in south boston. traffic seemed lighter than usual, probably a lot of students already left for the holiday break, and likewise workers who have accrued vacation days are taking them now at the end of the year.

our original plan was to maybe hit a chinatown supermarket after foodpak, but we got pretty much everything we wanted, so returned back to cambridge, stopping by the somerville market basket to get a few more grocery items.

we stopped off at the cafe to drop off the supplies before heading back to belmont. i took the opportunity to get my motorcycle out of the garage. it started on the first try. judging from the weather forecast, looks like i have a few more days left in the riding season. it's going to rain a few inches on friday, and after that we enter a period of deep freeze. still no snow, which is the harbinger of the end of my riding season. i might also take the opportunity to wash my bike next week, although it's not going to be fun being outside and wet in 40 degrees temperature.

for lunch we a little bit of everything: pan-fried pancakes, peking raviolis, and even some salad. i decided to keep the greyish-colored allbirds shoes, and return the all black one. i surfed temu one last time, picking out some additional items, before we paid for our latest haul, hopefully arriving before the end of the year.

my mother bought 3 different pairs of allbirds shoes for me, i finally tried them all on today to compare and figure out which pair i want to keep. i like the allblack version but it doesn't have reflective shoelaces. i think the salt & pepper version will be easier to hide stains (like winter salts). there's also a 3rd pair that doesn't have very much wool material so that one is not worth keeping. in the end i decided to keep the salt & pepper pair.

with a deep freeze arriving next week, it's urgent that we fully disassemble our rain barrels. we've already taken down all the irrigation, but the barrels are still standing, and the catch barrels continue to collect rain even though they have no additional tanks to transfer the water. there's also a danger of the water inside the barrels freezing up completely solid, cracking the barrels in the process. i should've taken them down today, but i was lazy and didn't want to be outside. hopefully this week i can return to belmont and do that.

for dinner my father made some mapotofu along with some salted pork on the side. afterwards i rode the motorcycle back to cambridge. with street cleaning tomorrow, there isn't a lot of parking spaces, so i stashed my bike in my emergency spot.
