i went out today just once, to the community garden, to check to see if that one last remaining white bitter melon has burst yet. it was in fact still intact. i also checked for the pray mantises but they were both gone. it was a warm and dry day, when i came back to the house i appreciated how cool it was indoors even though it was at 78°F.

for lunch i had another piece of corn. i wanted to snack on something later in the afternoon, and ended up using some leftover tortilla wraps, one stuffed with leftover garlic humus, another stuffed with leftover cream cheese. it was a bit sad as far as snacks went, but i didn't manage to finish 3 leftover items in the kitchen, happy they didn't go to waste.

i spent a good chunk of the day retroactively populating past blog entries with photos. i finished all of this month (september) as well as august. there's still 4 entries in july that are missing photos, and 16 entries for may. once i get that done i'll be totally up to date. i worked while listening to a BBC crime podcast about the baltimore gun trace task force, which operated a reign of terror in the city for several years, stealing from civilians, and were finally caught in 2017. i also watched an hour-long documentary on former chicago bulls center luc longley, who was glaringly missing from the recent michael jordan documentary "the last dance".

for dinner i had 2 slices of leftover quiche. i may freeze the remaining pieces, not sure if i can eat the rest tomorrow night, as i'm all quiched out. i ate while watching the rays-red sox game. boston finally managed to beat tampa bay, and with the yankees losing yet again to the bue jays, the red sox are now 1/2 game ahead of the yankees for the final 2 wild card spots.
