my father and i did some light backyard cleanup in the late morning. temperature hovered around 50°F. while crouched down pruning back the dead ferns at the bottom of the stairs, i stood up quickly and hit my back on the outdoor heating oil spigot. it felt like being struck with a metal pipe, i instantly fell to the ground in pain, my father watching and not knowing what happened. there was no bleeding but a layer skin had been scraped off and there will probably be a large bruise.

i made italian subs with the ingredients i bought yesterday. i didn't think my parents had any hot pepper rings until i found an old jar in the back of the fridge.

one of my relay modules (HW-803 with optocoupler, 99¢) arrived in the mail. this one only has one channel, the other one i ordered had two. i don't have a project for it yet, but nice to have in case i ever need to rig up my own light switch.
