a little online job searching, a little coding brush-up (played around with ruby), and a quick trip to rite aid to stock up on some mouthwash and almonds. that was today in a nutshell. for lunch i finished the last of my chicken parmigiana sandwich, which was so filling i didn't have to eat dinner.

i got a 1L bottle of listerine cool mint (my preferred mouthwash) but also got a 1L bottle of listerine ultraclean in arctic mint flavor just to try it out. i found arctic mint similar to cool mint but less sweet.

a new OTG cable arrived in the mail this afternoon, but when i excitedly went to plug it in, i was immediately disappointed that it was defective and didn't work (no lights were on). when i wrote back the seller on ebay, the agent said they'd send me a new cable free of charge, and i didn't have to return the broken one. it took that cable 8 days to arrive from a utah distribution center, so it looks like i have another week of waiting.

cristina came home around 6:45pm. while she was making a salad (kale, pecans, boiled egg, boiled beet, balsamic vinaigrette), i was cutting up some sweet potatoes to make some oven-baked fries (2 tbsp olive oil, tossed with 1 tsp of kosher salt, 1 tsp of garlic powder, and 1 tsp of chili powder, 30 minutes 400°F). the fries were half soggy and half crispy. we watched dancing with the stars (vanilla ice was booted off), and instead of watching the vice presidential debate, i played the first episode of westworld.
