i left for the honkfest parade at 11:40am, overestimating how long it'd take me to get to elm-beech, where i traditionally watch the procession beginning at 12pm. i took the bicycle instead of the motorcycle, simply because a bike is easier to park. fortunately the parade didn't actually kick off until 12:15pm. never noticed it before but camberville seems to have a large population of hipster dads, with their dad beards, pushing strollers. i watched most of the procession from the street corner before i became impatient and walked down to see how much more of the parade was left. i then returned to my bike and rode down to the intersection of mass ave and garfield to see the parade again. by that point half of the parade had already passed (so maybe it would've been faster had i rode my motorcycle instead).

once the procession went by for the second time, i returned to my bike and rode to harvard square. through the octoberfest crowd, i made my way to the citizen bank to deposit the $500 check i got from nextstepliving yesterday, for overcharging me on insulation work after masssave ran an energy audit on my place.

instead of riding the motorcycle to belmont, i took the fuji bike instead, simply so i could enjoy having a glow-in-the-dark bike on my way back home in the evening.
