it was cold and rainy for a change but thankfully i had enough warmth trapped in the house to not mind. i ate my penultimate breakfast sandwich, this time with some chopped scallion additions. because of the rain, my parents came by to pick me up after they went to market basket for come groceries after work. dropping off supplies back at the cafe, i saw that city construction crew were digging up the parking lot in order to put in a new drainage pipe.

i went outside in the rain to take photos of the garden. i had my clear umbrella which is perfect for rainy day photography because it still allows the diffused sunlight to shine through.

the delphiniums were in full bloom, with colors ranging from blueish purple to purple to pinkish violet to pink. some flowers are easy to photograph because they're relatively flat; delphiniums are not those flowers, as they have an intricate 3D structure. i ended up taking a few from various depth and stacking them together in photoshop afterwards.
