having woke up close to noontime, 30 minutes later i was out with my mother on a lengthy shopping excursion. the 4 places we visited were costco, target, michael's, and finally ocean state job lot. since i didn't eat anything yet, we bought some mesquite wings from costco and i ate some in the car while my mother briefly went into target to return a few things. at michael's we were trying to pick out exactly $50 worth of yarn to maximize a 20% off coupon. at ocean state picked up a few thermal layer shirts. we finally left close to 4:00. i parked outside my street to get off and let my mother drive the car back to the cafe.

for dinner i had some annie's shells & white cheddar; it was surprisingly delicious, and its all natural ingredients did make me feel guilty after i finished eating.

i continued trying out ROMs for my father's coolpad F1 phone. i flashed a baidu OS and it seemed to work, but it got stuck on the splash animation screen. i then tried a MIUI ROM, but it give this error: No app2sd partition found. Skipping format of /sd-ext - and then wouldn't install the ROM. in fact, it wouldn't install any ROM after that, even when i tried to flash back to AOSP, so i was afraid i hosed the phone. but after i rebooted into recovery again and tried to flash AOSP first, it finally worked. so i never did get to try baidu OS or genuine MIUI, but i've had enough flashing fun with this phone, better to return to AOSP - a ROM i know that will work without any problems.
