after a long day wandering new york city, there was nothing i wanted more than to come home, take a shower, and go to bed. i went to sleep at 3:00 and woke up at 12:00. i could've easily slept more, but i had things to do. my aching legs were much better this morning, but my knees and thighs were still sore and the bottom of my left foot still hurt. the problem with my knee wasn't really due to all the walking but rather because i banged them into a potted plant while i was in little italy.

i took the bicycle to belmont even though it was the perfect day for riding the motorcycle with the weather so warm (60's). since there's street cleaning tomorrow though, i didn't want to go through the hassle of finding a parking spot when i got back. in hindsight, the motorcycle would've been the better choice, because i had absolutely no energy in my legs. the bad news was it took me much longer to pedal to belmont; good news i hardly broke a sweat.

my mother fixed me some mala noodles for a late lunch when i told her i didn't eat anything yet today. i watched a few football games on television, not paying too much attention since the patriots don't play until tomorrow night. the miami-buffalo game was a joke (dolphins won 35-8). the green bay-tampa bay game was at least interesting, with the buccaneers almost handing the packers their first lose of the season. i got the feeling there was some officiating shenanigans when green bay kept on getting consecutive penalties in their favor.

the temperature had dropped into the 50's when i biked to cambridge but it was still on the warm side. my legs were still tired, i barely made it up the hills. when i got back i noticed marco had done a load of laundry and cut his hair again (he does it every few weeks). he made some dinner (risotto) and afterwards went to his room to finish some work. i half-heartedly watched the eagles-giants game, rooting against new york more than i was actually rooting for philadelphia. it was an exciting sunday night game (with a backup quarterback at the helm for philly), made even better by the giants' loss.
