the rain is often times a limiting factor in my day to day existence. without a car, if i want to go anywhere, it means getting wet, and i very much like to stay dry. so i remained indoors for much of the day.

i left the house just once to get some groceries from star market (they were having a sale on stouffer's frozen meals again, i stocked up on lasagnas). it was raining but pleasantly warm, like a summer shower. that's probably the last time i'll experience that this year because the forecast calls for a return of more season-appropriate coldness beginning tomorrow. star did some recent remodeling because all the aisles were re-arranged, so it took me a while to find everything.

marco came home briefly around noontime to pick up his laptop charger that he forgot to bring. he also took a change a clothes since he'd be soaked once he returned to MIT.

i made myself a smoothie for breakfast (just to use up an old banana living in the fridge). for a late lunch, i boiled-fried some leftover potatoes and toaster oven baked a few chinese sausages. for dinner i had some leftover salad and a can of smoked mussels.
