i spent the whole day at home, stymied by intermittent rains. i did a little bit of work for client J (migrating a drupal package), browsed some online job listings, then researched some code updates for my site (infinite scrolling, sliding comments). i even worked at my bedroom from a desk, after coming to the conclusion that the seats in the living room were too soft and therefore contributing to my lower back pains which have returned.

like many geeks, i was glued this afternoon to news about the new iphone (4S). the thing that impressed me the most is that it's a truly global phone, supporting both GSM and CDMA networks (if i'm not mistaken). still, even if i had the disposable income, i don't know if i could justify spending $1200+/year on the calling plan. that's a price point that's out of my reach. i'm kind of disappointed that the new ipod touch didn't get a camera upgrade as well. the only difference is the price drop. i also like the new ipod nano. built-in accelerometer? no more shoe sensor? even better for exercising. i also like the watch idea. is that new or has it always been the case? worn on the wrist though, will it look completely dorky?

a mustard corn beef sandwich for lunch, a can of corn for dunch, and some microwaved thai massaman curry for dinner. somewhere in between some fig newtons and an apple, washed down with some good earth tea and sweet chrysanthemum tea (helps to keep warm).
