no word from any of my clients today which afforded me a free day. victor didn't leave for the office until 10:00 this morning. he seems to be going a little later every day. as for me, i've been going to sleep earlier than usual. usually i'm the last to go to sleep, but last night i went to bed first around 11:00, reading until midnight.

i changed out the milk crate on my bike to my old (bigger) 6 gallon crate. it's still a little wobbly so i'll need to readjust the tension on the bungie cords. despite the cold weather (20's) i went down to the cafe (even with gloves my fingers hurt) to drop off some spicy mexican chicken soup and to fix the internet webcam. i also checked out the DHCP IP table on the wireless router, just to see the traffic on the free wifi. surprisingly, a majority of the users were smart phones (saw a bunch of iphones and at least one android phone); are they supposed to be on own their network and don't need to piggyback at a hotspot? i forgot my bike lock and repeatedly went outside to make sure my junky bike wasn't stolen. i took home a bag of frozen chinese dumplings and some tea eggs.

i did something unexpected in the afternoon: i actually purposely watched a professional soccer game online. ESPN3 was streaming a live broadcast of the madrid-málaga game. i suppose this is what happens when i live with a successive series of spanish roommates. it actually wasn't a bad game to watch from an american sensibility since there was plenty of scoring (for a change): real madrid ended up winning 7-0. they probably could've scored some more goals, but that would've been cruel since their opponent was vastly inferior (málaga is actually last place in la liga and will be relegated to the minor secondary league come next season).

i had some leftover spicy mexican chicken soup for dinner. victor didn't come home until 10:00 (much like yesterday). he's normally a private person and prefers staying in his room, unless there's a basketball game on, and then he'll come out and we watch it together. we saw the orlando magic beat the miami heat after miami was up by 20+ points. victor invited me to the movies this weekend to see buitiful, that new javier bardem movie, but i told him i wasn't interested because it seemed like a sad film.
