i figured it'd just take an hour to install OSX 10.5 on julie's machine when i visited her at 11:00 today. it was a hot and dry day, and the towns and cities were still mostly deserted due to the 4th of july long weekend. julie made some berries smoothies, which pretty much was my lunch for the day. the installation ended up taking 4 hours, and even then we weren't close to being done. for some mysterious reason the installer DVD wouldn't recognize her boot drive. we ended up installing 10.5 on an external drive just to see if it'd even work with her computer.

once i returned home, i rode the motorcycle to belmont. first thing i did was to check the squash vines: no new egg sightings, so maybe the squash vine borer i captured yesterday means the end of infestation.

we had the leftover blue cheese burgers for dinner. i was so hungry i didn't think we had enough, but i only managed to eat a single burger before becoming full (there was also some fried clams too).
