i emptied out half of my hallway closet today in order to restart my indoor grow house. i went down to the basement to find my banks of grow lights missing. i immediately suspected my upstairs neighbors of taking them, but then remembered they were in the basement of the cafe when i temporarily turned that cellar into a makeshift garden nursery. also missing were all my plastic pots. no big deal, nothing a package of drinking cups and a power drill can't remedy.

i was content with staying put at home and watching the rest of the wire season 1 when my mother called me to belmont for dinner in the form of burger king (she had some coupons). my sister and i were given the duty of picking up the takeout, but before that happened i went with my father to home depot to look for some mailboxes. my sister also showed me the birthday cupcakes she made for hailey. that dog is spoiled.

once again, i choose bicycle as my mode of transportation. i pedaled until exhaustion to belmont, cursing my way through every ascent. i was burned out but it felt good. biking anywhere always leaves me with a sense of accomplishment. the destination is only half the trip since i still need to get back. returning home i brought out the light show, 4 sets of independently flashing red and white LED's.

i'm up to episode 7 of the wire and i'm hooked. it's not a show for everyone, but it's really caught my interest. to think: there are 4 more seasons after this! best episode so far has to be 4, when detectives moreland and mcnulty recreate a crime scene through a dialog filled with nothing but f-bombs (you had to be there).
