i went with julie to the galleria mall today to check out some ipods. her first generation apple portable music player died recently, and she was looking for a suitable replacement. it was either the ipod touch or the ipod nano, and then which color. during the time we were at the apple store we were swarmed with repetitive employees asking us if we needed help or had any questions. afterwards we hung out at the bookstore before leaving the mall. there's sort of this sadness that permeates the malls these days. malls are sort of modern day temples dedicated to consumerism, but with people thinking more about saving than spending, business must not be very good.

once i got home i went out again, this time to buy some food. i went to the indian grocery store across from market basket to pick up some tikka sauce (going to try my hand at making some indian food later in the week) and cilantro chutney. i then went to MB to pick up the rest of my groceries. i went to the cafe to get some lunch, where my parents were still trying to perfect their stretch-pulling noodle-making technique.

temperature today was in the 40's but it felt warm enough for riding. even the motorcycle started without too much problems (sometimes when it gets too cold, the engine can be a little stubborn). tomorrow should be warm enough that i'll probably go out for a run again. so much for running everyday.
