snow fell again this morning. of the few people i met on the street (mailman, bruce), everyone was complaining about the snow, even though i personally don't mind it. it was another all-day affair, although only a few inches as predicted by the local weather report. i went out and shoveled twice; it was the light stuff so there wasn't that much work. for once i beat my neighbor don, who probably wasn't home today otherwise he'd be outside every hour clearing off his sidewalk.

in the early afternoon i made my way to 241 optical (1208 mass ave.) in harvard square to get my glasses re-adjusted (they needed to be tightened). my sister's friend michael was working there today and was able to help me out. we chatted about motorcycle; he got a new bike last season and managed to log 3000 miles on it, taking it as far as maine, where there aren't any helmet laws. i've never even left massachusetts before with my own bike, spending all my riding time in the eastern half of the state. i wouldn't want to take a long trip on a 250cc motorcycle anyway; maybe one day i'll survive long enough to upgrade to a more powerful bike.

coming back, i spent some time walking around harvard square, hoping to score some photo opportunities. bad weather makes for dramatic snapshots, that clash between man and the elements. unfortunately, bad weather also makes for some tough shooting: if the wind didn't invert my umbrella, the constant snowfall threatened to short-circuit my camera equipment.

i played some god of war and GTA:SA today. i finally managed to complete the skeleton archers puzzle, where your objective is to push a box to the other side of the ship before the rain of arrows destroy the box. it took me hours and i had to go online a few times to look for hints. nothing new in GTA, other than completely a drive-by with my crew. now however it looks like i've started a gang war because i can't go anywhere in the city without somebody shooting at me. i have to learn how to better fire a gun, i'm still not very good.
