i had a busy day of running errands, a marathon session of visiting places around the camberville area, trying to get through my to-do list before it started to rain. i went to the dollar store this morning to pick up a box of kitchen trash bags (52@$4.99) and some stainless steel scourers (2@$1, for cleaning the steel frying pan from last night). when i returned home i decided to move some furniture back onto steve's deck. he poked his head out from his kitchen and told me i didn't have to do that, and then disappeared inside to finish off an e-mail on his iphone (he always seems to be in the middle of something when i talk to him, either that or he's a pathological liar). i went to walgreens to pick up a packet of 9v batteries (6@$4.99) for my smoke detectors (the one in the kitchen died a few days ago, did that annoying intermittent beeping). next i visited the library to pick up a dvd i reserved for my roommate ("secrets of the dead: amazon warrior women", based on a recommendation from his friend). from there i went to target to buy some A23 batteries (2@$3.59). passing through union square, i stopped by the korean grocery store to get some japanese sake ($7.95) and korean soju ($6.99) for my parents (they're big alcoholics). at rite aid i got some more ferrero rocher (taking advantage of the sale) before returning to the korean grocery store again to buy a head of napa cabbage for my mother (for making meat buns). i went to the cafe to deliver the goods and had some lunch while i was there, bringing home some dinner as well.

once i was back at home, i was fighting my old demons again, finding new and creative ways not to work. as evening approached, i fell asleep briefly on the couch, cranking up the thermostat some time later once i couldn't bear the 60 degrees i normally keep the house set to. now as midnight approach, i'm hunkering down, getting ready to do some work for another delivery tomorrow. fortunately it's an internal delivery, so there's less pressure.
