a chilly day with temperature hovering in the mid-40's. i'm getting better at dressing for the cold weather and i hardly felt a thing. makes me feel like i can keep on riding into the early winter, as long as there aren't any big snowstorms and the roads don't ice up. i went out to cash a check, get some money, and pay a visit to the supermarket. i've been forgoing the plastic bags and stuffing my purchases directly into my backpack while the bag boy watches in horror and cringes as i arrange everything haphazardly. eggs on the bottom, packaged meats out in the open, bags of chips crushed. i went to the cafe to pick up my dSLR camera before returning home.

julie came by in the evening, earlier than normal (6:30). she made thai soup and then baked some instant chocolate chip cookies for dessert. we watched the barack obama show starting at 8pm. a very well-made infomercial, designed to target swing voters with laser-like precision. later obama was on the daily show while simultaneously doing a late night campaign rally in florida with former president clinton.

i just can't believe that obama can lose this election. he's done everything right up to this point. less drama, more money, less mudslinging, more substance. even the stars have aligned for him with a failing economy and a republican campaign that seems to be imploding more every single day. if obama were to lose it'd only be because of the color of his skin, and i just can't believe ordinary americans can't look beyond that. if that really was true, wouldn't obama have lost in the primaries? i'm optimist but still a little bit worried. come late tuesday night, we may look back and laugh about all this worrying.
