i can feel it already: most of my weekend will be spent trying to finish client N's project for a delivery on monday. fortunately it's not too difficult, all i need is time. that reminds me: i also have to do my taxes and switch my health insurance. the next few weeks is going to be busy. it almost seems like everything is happening simultaneously. after april is over though, it's back to the good life of doing nothing again. hopefully by then it'll be consistently warm and i can go off on motorcycling adventures. today was major client juggling, setting up meetings, pitching deadlines, working on the code. even client P contacted me with some work but i had to turn them down, too busy. i can tell how busy i am by when i eat my lunch: today i didn't toast a bagel until almost 4pm. i did go out briefly to buy some kleenex. daisy's sister anne got in touch with me to do some last minute usability testing; i was with her on the phone for an hour, offering my opinion on a prospective website redesign, in return for a $50 gift certificate. in the evening an tao and i went to KFC to get some fried chicken for dinner, his last american meal. somebody put a faux parking violation on the car (my parents' SUV), which is actually a pro-environment flyer. that gets me so angry, i wish my neighbor would mind their own business. i don't even own a car, and during the summers i ride a motorcycle which gets even better mileage than a hybrid. i just want to find out who's been putting these things on the SUV's and chew them out. you can't just generalize and say everyone who drives these things are automatically environment-hating polluters. i'm the first person to hug a tree but it's zealots like these that hurt the cause. after he ate, an tao went back to the office to continue working, his boss putting the pressure on him to finish writing a presentation before he leaves saturday morning.
