i had lunch with exSRMer lisa at tacos lupita. reaching into my pocket, i was horrified to discover that i didn't bring any money so lisa had to spot me some cash. i got the huaraches con lengua (what i always get) and a roasted pork soft shell taco. we had a good long chat (fun things to do in amsterdam and the surrounding area) before i returned home. the day was already getting late (2:30) and i decided to postpone my run in order to get some errands done. i went down to the petco by the galleria mall and bought an airstone ($1, for the CO2 injector). at the nearby brooks i got some batteries (for the smoke detectors) and a 2 liter bottle of raspberry soda.

with a swiss army knife and a screwdriver, i managed to "drill" a hole in a plastic bottle cap and push one of the bulkhead fittings through, making the top for my CO2 generator. i needed the 2 liter bottle to grow my yeast so the rest of the night i tried desperately to finish all that soda. i tested the tubing-airstone setup by blowing my own bubbles underwater, just for kicks.

after snuggling in the hot bath with last week's issue of EW, i had some leftover vodka sauce penne for dinner while watching the latest battlestar galactica. bulldog (carl lumbly AKA dixon) looks like john parker, the dreadlocked space alien from buckazoo banzai (perhaps this was a subtle homage). this episode was a little weak, and when admiral adama admitted to his son that he might've been responsible for the cylon invasion, i almost hit my jump-the-shark button. the one good thing to come out of this episode is ole one eye (colonel tigh) seemed to have patched up his differences with adama. gaius baltar wasn't featured in this one, unless you count that one scene where he's passed out in bed with a naked three way with number six and d'anna (and no, it wasn't a dream sequence).
