the annual head of the charles regatta is only interesting for me because 1) i live within walking distance of the charles river, 2) it gives me a chance to practice my telephoto shooting, and 3) the torrent of young female athletes straining and moaning as they work their oars in unison. used to waking up early these days, i got out of bed and made my way down to harvard square. the weather was perfect, a sky of deep blue, with a crisp autumn air. i walked the river looking for photo ops, buying an italian sausage ($6) for lunch. it wasn't until i got home did i realize i had the camera set to the wrong white balance (flourescent light, giving all my photos a bluish hue, which i've managed to correct with photoshop). in the evening my parents came over for dinner and i showed them more travel photos, served off the external hard drive, routed through my ibook, and displayed on the television.
