i grabbed 2 hours to meet rob and dave for dinner at zoe's, the sichuan restaurant across the street. rob showed up with his housemate laurence, and since we were the first to arrive, we got a table for 6. i gave rob a stack of his old letters, rerouted to my house during that brief month when he lived at place (over a year ago), finally being delivered. dave showed up soon afterwards along with his two housemates, tracy and shannon (apparently it was shannon's birthday). we didn't know what to get so everyone order a dish: i of course went with the fuxifeipan (fuqifeipian), a plate of tripe and tendon in a spicy mala sauce. after dinner we parted ways. i brought out the trash before coming inside. i immediately started working and finally stopped at around midnight.

this work is killing me and it's definitely starting to fester a little bit now. i have a list of neglected errands to run (things like change medical insurance, get a new visitor's parking permit, get some exercise, buy tiramisu ingredients) because i'm been so engrossed with the coding. funny thing is, it's only really been 2 days since the start of the new year, but i already feel like i've worked a whole week already. i'm having a hard time waking up too, like i can't bear to face another day. i just want to do something (besides sleeping) where i don't have to think. when i close my eyes all i see is lingo and it gives me the shakes. there doesn't seem to be enough hours in a day to do all the things i want to do in addition to working.

i went to buydig.com today to check up on my camera's delivery status. i think it might be out of stock, but they never sent me e-mail about it and i haven't heard anything from them since i ordered almost a week ago. i only went with them because they're one of the cheapest online shops, but now i'm starting to wonder if i should cancel and go with somebody else.

(by the way, this post marks my 2000th weblog entry!)
