another day, another work-related event that takes me out of the house. today i took the subway to central square and walked to PRS in cambridgeport, where i had a design meeting with them along with my former SCS boss alex coming in all the way from rhode island. the projects aren't due until next summer, but we needed to iron out the design specifications so the client (florida keys) can sign off on them. i like meetings: they make me feel like i'm doing work, even though it's mostly talk. if i had the choice, i rather go to meetings all the time instead of any actual coding, which is a lot harder. after getting close to the 3 hour mark we finally drew the meeting to a close. since i walked down in the cold, alex offered to give me a ride back to my place in his brand new bio-diesel jetta (it gets almost 40mpg). we had lunch at rf o'sullivan, servings of thick juicy burgers. i let alex have one of my onion rings even though it was against his diet.

coming back home, i broke up the slick layer of ice that'd formed on my section of the sidewalk; since i wasn't home this past monday, and my upstairs neighbors apparently too lazy for the task, nobody bothered to shovel the walk. i had one of those ice chisels on a pole and spent 10 minutes trying to avoid a potential lawsuit or a city fine. this is in preparation for tomorrow as well, with the arrival of our season's first big snowstorm.

i worked a little bit, but as soon as it started getting dark out, my energy felt drained, and i put the computer to sleep while i crawled into bed and did the same. i woke up 3 hours later and made some ramen for dinner.
