i'm lucky to live in such a quiet part of cambridge. sure the houses are close enough that they're practically touching and i've almost forgotten what the night time sky looks like since its either obstructed by buildings or trees, but it's still quiet. a lot of owner occupied homes, that's the secret. it's so quiet that on a cool summer evening like tonight, the only sounds i hear are the very distant roar of traffic and the chirping of crickets. here in my living room under the glow of a single red lamp, life seems to be standing still. that's a good thing because it gives me time to nurse my ass muscle, i think i pulled it within the past few days, so now i walk around the house with a hobble. that still didn't stop me from going out for a run in the late afternoon, but that probably just aggravated the situation. most of this morning and early afternoon i was once again busy with bug fixes. dan stopped by briefly with the keys to his house so i can fishsit for him while he's away on his brazilian vacation. having not worked yesterday, today felt like a monday to me. in the evening manny came over (after a busy day of painting) for some wings action and i showed him photos from my japan trip (manny and i went to japan for the very first time after college back in 1997).
