like i needed anymore sun! but that's what i got as i went running solo this afternoon (alex was still injured, kristine had already gone to the gym this morning), armed with my camera (nice weather = good photo opportunities). i hate carrying anything in my hands when i run, but for the sake of capturing a bit of boston on this nice spring day, i was willing to make a small sacrifice. i ended up not doing very much running, more of just walking and taking photos. not only was it hot (80 degrees) but humid as well. the large greyish carp from tuesday was of course not there again today - a fish of that size must have some amazing survival instincts in order to get to where it is today, and would never appear at the same place more than once. however, i did see a pair of swallows skimming the surface of the water, too fast and too small to get any good photos. i went around the charles river then cut through boston common. i think my new hobby this summer is to just come out here and take random photos of people. there's a kind of cheap thrill when you can get really close to somebody and take an embarrassing photo of them without them knowing about it. i bought an italian sausage ($4.50) for lunch and went back to the office with its nice air conditioning.

adam didn't come in to work today, called this morning to say he was going to go see a doctor. i can't shake off this guilty feeling, like he some how contracted the virus from me. we sit next to each other in the office and i haven't stopped coughing ever since i came back from my intermittent week of recovery. that's the bad news. the good news is discovered the project we're working on is actually a lot easier than i realized, a lot of canned movie loops, very simple rudimentary coding. we will make the deadline at the end of the month after all! i wasn't so sure before, not without some "after school" work and perhaps sacrificing a weekend or two.

i stopped by shannon's place briefly after work to grab the SCSI cd-rom drive i let her borrow from last summer. she finally wanted to return it to me now that she's moving back to ohio. when i got back home, my parents came to pick me up, returning to belmont to fix my sister's PC (can't get onto the internet) and for dinner (whatever it was, definitely better than what i had this morning for breakfast, oatmeal that exploded in my microwave when i was heating it up). i couldn't figure out what was wrong with the computer, so my sister is going to reinstall the factory default system and software, hopefully that'll fix it (otherwise it could be hardware related, like a dead ethernet card). my godmother came by for dinner as well, and after watching the toronto bluejays deliver a grand slam homerun to the red sox in the bottom of the 8th inning, that was my cue to go home.
