the highlight of today was i was supposed to go to a cooking class at the bread & circus in fresh pond, cooking the romantic dinner, but the class was cancelled at the last minute (i didn't sign up for it, actually my aunt did, but she couldn't go so she gave me her ticket).

i woke up a few hours earlier than usual this morning to do some debug work for another delivery, then in the afternoon i went to harvard square to look for some tax forms at the post office but they were nowhere to be found. instead, i bought a small thank you card from wordsworth and walked back home. i was surprised to discover my land phone line was still working, although i'll be happy once it's officially cancelled; for some reason i've been getting a lot of telemarketers calling my place. as a matter of fact, the first thing to wake me up the past few mornings hasn't been my cell phone alarm clock but rather the ringing of the telephone from someone trying to sell me something or asking for a charitable donation. i can't wait to not hear from them anymore.

dinner, i cooked up a few sweet italian sausages in the toaster oven, and hunkered down for a night of blissful television watching starting with the gilmore girls, followed by 24, then kingpin. rori's thinking about sleeping with jess, who in this episode tranformed from the boyfriend from hell into the apologetic boyfriend who's afraid of losing his girl. lorelai continues to date "that guy" when she should be dating luke, this is all a big mistake which i hope they will rectified by the end of the season. on 24, i knew agent bauer would never order a hit on innocent civilians (what's with the president trying to cancel the hit? what a wuss), but it was great to watch sayid ali break when threatened with the slaughter of his immediate family. maybe we should try some similar tactics fighting real life terrorism. and kingpin, it's too bad there's only 2 more episodes left, it's really a great show, a mexican version of sopranos. not sure who else's been watching it, nobody i know, despite the fact that everyone watched sopranos. just like sopranos, kingpin has some great music.

and just now the lamp in the living room turned off because i had it set on a timer earlier today when i thought i was going to that cooking class. lazy me, i'm not going to bother turning it back on. it's an incentive to go to bed early i suppose, otherwise i'd stay up into the wee hours of the night again.
