i took the break from renovating that i was talking about yesterday. soon after i woke up i went to dan's place in allston to watch the eagles game followed by the patriots game. when i got there, dan, cymara, brendan, and jen were already there. chips and drinks were available, i brought my own spicy buffalo chicken sandwich purchased from the wings place down the block (it wasn't very good, but it was filling). later joe lunney showed up as well (whom i haven't seen since december, john miller's farewell gathering). the philadelphia eagles beat the houston texans (brendan and jen left soon afterwards), but the patriots lost to the san diego chargers, their first lost of the regular season (i felt sick). dan, joe, and i watched the second game and reminiscenced about our old screen house days, filling joe in on what everyone's been doing these days. i finally realized that that particular character in our collective memory, that mannish woman who wanted to work at our former company, was in fact a man, or use to be a man. all the clues were there, but only now, 3 years later, do i connect all the dots. learn something new everyday! after the games, i gave joe a ride to harvard square before returning home.

and in tonight's season premiere episode of alias, did anyone notice the vaughn rescue scene in the french morgue was playing music similar to the reanimator, and the whole scene looks like something from that brian yuzna horror masterpiece? spoiler sydney's mom coming in to cia headquarter to turn herself in was a little bit too convenient, a little bit too "twisted surprise ending." once again sydney and vaughn don't hook up, or at the very least have some dinner, while they're in barcelona. the sexual tension is too much! can't we just have a dream sequence? maybe not until sweeps.

my new favorite song since friday: erin mckeown's "queen of quiet."
