I didn't see Ortiz either, but apparently, he was driving one of the duck boats!
As the woman next to me said: "If Papi wants to drive the boat, Papi can drive the boat." Couldn't agree more...

Tony, why the hate, hater?
For me, the parade was like (but better than) 4th of July fireworks on the esplanade... 4-5 hours of standing, discomfort, obnoxious people all around you, possibly bad weather, all for a couple minutes worth of excitement... and TOTALLY WORTH EVERY SECOND.

As a veteran of several Chicago Bulls Championship non-parades (just big rallies at Grant Park), the Red Sox parade looked completely awesome. Staging an amphibious landing -- how heroic is that?

papi was driving the boat? i'll go check my photos. is there nothing that man can't do?
if they win again next year, i hope they incorporate some air component: maybe the players can descend via rope ladders from a blimp, or hang-glide into city hall.

Great pictures, Tony! Ortiz driving the boat? Is that why people were jumping in the river?

i think somebody accidently knocked over a beehive, that's why people were jumping into the charles river...
