it rained throughout the day, alternating from grey to very grey until the evening came. nothing much happened, a quiet thursday waiting out the wet weather. julie told me it was snowing out in concord, just a mere 15 miles away. i've yet to see any substantial snowfall this season other than a few stray flakes. would it really be so bad if it snowed everywhere else but boston this winter? but it wouldn't feel right without seeing at least one snowstorm this year. why put up with all this cold weather if we can't be rewarded with the occasional snowy landscape? the lack of snow actually hurts the local economy. an army of snowplow drivers and salt truckers sit idle while supermarkets and hardware stores don't get their pre-storm emergency surge in business.
