it sounded like somebody was outside pelting my bedroom window with ice cubes this morning. all the frozen snow on the tree branches were now dropping like bombs. something it'd thwack the glass, other times it'd ping the screen. the snowstorm yesterday only dumped about 2" of snow in the cambridge area, but that was also mixed with some rain. it stayed above freezing for most of the day. i went out and scraped the slush off of the sidewalk.

i wasn't going anywhere but that's okay; i had enough food in my fridge to feed a family for weeks. i spent the day playing with code, snacking, and doing some laundry. i also ordered a box of new checks to go with my new bank account. i curse NBC everyday for not broadcasting the winter olympics events live. i had to follow lindsey vonn's gold medal alpine downhill run online.

at least NBC broadcasted the mens 1000m long track speed skating and i was able to see shani davis win the gold. i also watched the snowboarding halfpipe. is it just me, but why do all the snowboarders look like teenage delinquents?
