in the afternoon, i went with my parents to haymarket. my father used to come here often, but i'm not sure if my mother's ever been here before. while my father waited in the car, my mother and i were making our way through the crowded lane, buying up cheap produce. my mother has no experience with proper haymarket etiquette and a few times the vendors were a little rude since they have no patience for people who pick at the produce or slow to show cash upfront. by the time we made it back to the car, our arms were sore from carrying all those bags of fruits and vegetables. afterwards we went to chinatown, to ming's market for some supplies.

originally i was supposed to have dinner with sophia and her peruvian friend in union square at machu picchu, but that plan fell through, so instead i went to belmont for a homecooked meal. back at my place, sophia told me she may need to stay for additional week, since she hasn't even bought her return flight back to england yet, but that she'd pay for any additional overtime accommodations.
