am i on vacation? because it sure felt that way. with no pending project work, i woke up when i felt like it (11am). spent most of the day surfing the web and watching television. despite the fact that all that snow outside was converting the neighborhood into an outdoor freezer, it was still nice and toasty in my bedroom with my space heater turned on. i took a shower and then made lunch, an egg and bacon bagel sandwich. though cozy in the bedroom, it was cold in the rest of the house (only an 8 degree difference but nice noticeable). occasionally i'd look outside and watch neighbors digging their cars out of the hardened snow. i'm glad i don't have a vehicle parked outside. good news is a warm front is heading our way for wednesday, bringing with it some melting rain.

i went over to my parents place in the evening to work on some leftover turkey. my parents had gone to costco earlier and bought hailey a large bag of rawhide chew. we gave her one that she worked on for an hour and a half, gnawing at it until it was just a short nub. she then spent a good amount of time trying to hide this leftover rawhide, putting it everywhere from inside the couch cushion, to underneath some chairs, to behind the door, and even between two pillows on the bed. she finally left it between two cabinets. satisfied with her hiding place, she fell asleep on the couch.

i helped my father clone his mac drive using superduper (migrating from a 20gb drive to a 60gb i had lying around) before getting a ride back to cambridge. my roommate was already home, and he told me his ordeal of going down to NYC and back this past weekend. later, after he made some dinner, he took a shower. that's his second shower in 2 days! maybe somebody said something to him this weekend regarding americans and our aversion to body odor.

i'm pretty sure i have a cold. my nose has been runny all day and i've been sneezing. i'm not sure how i contracted it, must've been this past weekend. it's still pretty mild, but i'm keeping an eye on it, making sure it doesn't get any worse. lots of fluids and plenty of rest; don't think that'll be too hard!
