woke up this morning and went straight to work without missing a beat. the client hadn't responded yet to last night's delivery, the one where i told them i still wasn't finished and estimated another 3 weeks before i can have a solid product. i figured the more progress i make the better, regardless of the consequences. in the late afternoon i went to belmont to check up on hailey, since my parents had gone out of town and my sister wasn't home either. i brought my laptop to work and my phone in case the client should call. when my sister finally got back, i returned to cambridge. the client wrote me an e-mail, said they extended the deadline to next friday (thursday actually, i won't be home friday). not sure how i feel about that, but at least i live to fight another day. glad i decided to work today instead of waiting for the client to get back to me.

my metal expandable replacement swatch watch band arrived from the netherlands today. the band plus shipping cost more than the watch itself, which i bought more than 10 years ago on a trip to mexico. the problem is the band is too long and i don't have the tools or the skills to remove some of the links, so i may need to take it down to a watch shop (i know a place in harvard square).

for dinner, i made some pasta tossed with cheddar cheese mixed with some steamed green vegetables. i would've taken a photo of it but i lent my camera to my father so he can practice with it before he takes it on vacation next month. when my roommate came home, he was telling about all the exciting things he saw people throw out on the curb for trash pickup.
