2008

although i can pretty much spend any day of the week not doing anything (i'm versatile like that), the weekend is the only time when i don't feel guilty about it. and actually i thought about doing some work but then laughed in the face of reality.

boring day, basically waited for the rainstorm to arrive, and when it did, went around the house closing windows. the rain also meant i didn't have to go down to the garden. not to seem too lazy, but i wish i could automate that. press a button, a sprinkler goes off for 15 minutes, i'm done for the day.

watched jason bay's second inaugural red sox game. his 3 run homer was all the runs the team needed to beat the athletics again. however, what we needed and what we got were two different stories: red sox ended up winning 12-2. youkilis jacked 2 homeruns himself. with manny gone, we need all the offense we can get, even if it means looking the other way when a juicer like kevin makes good.

later in the evening i cleaned out the minibow aquarium. the elodea had grown out of control and creating this slimy mess on the water surface that can only be described as pond scum. there was algae covering the walls and the java ferns needed a serious scrubbing as most leaves were covered in a dark growth. it took while, well over an hour, before i had the whole tank back in pristine condition. fish tally: 3 neon tetras, 3 glowlight tetras, and 1 cherry barb.
