this morning i picked up some groceries for my parents at market basket (where it was surprisingly uncrowded today) before returning to the comcast office on sherman street to return my leased cablemodem. i had some lunch at the cafe before coming home to hunker down for a day of work.

i also finally sent out the paperwork to switch my health insurance to blue cross. if the price quote i got was correct (no bait and switch tactic), it's actually cheaper than what i'm paying now (although there's no prescription coverage). the good thing is i might be able to go back to my old doctor at MGH. actually, i've only met him once; he was the replacement primary care physician after my original doctor retired. but we seemed to have a pretty good rapport, since he does a lot of traveling in southeast asia as well, and we exchanged a few battle stories.

it's been more than 2 weeks since an tao returned to china. i'm now realizing that having a roommate actually keeps me honest in terms of keeping the house clean. now that i have the place all to myself again, i've noticed a rapid decline in neatness. clothes are strewn about the house, uneaten food everywhere, and a pile of dishes in the sink. even in the smallest of places, keeping it nice still requires some work.

tonight marked the return of one of my favorite shows: BBC's hustle on the AMC network. now in it's 4th season, all the actors are returning except for adrian lester (mickey stone). the original ensemble had such great chemistry, it was one of the things that was so great about the show. with adrian gone, hustle just isn't the same, and i hear they're going to add a new character, a young black con man trying to rise through the ranks of grifters. i'll still watch the show hoping that maybe adrian will return next season (british series seasons are short, just 6 episodes). tonight's episode takes the gang out of london and to hollywood, where they try to sell the hollywood sign to a mark (played by robert wagner). jaime murray (stacie monroe) is always good for a little eye candy, playing the role of the vixen and sunbathing poolside in her bikini, but for some reason she seemed particularly horse-like in this episode (maybe i just never noticed it before, or maybe they shot her in all bad angles). danny blue (marc warren) is now the de facto leader, which is strange, because in all the previous episodes he seemed to be the hot-headed upstart with still quite a ways away before being able to lead the team.
