all day long i was waiting for rain. i checked the doppler radar and could see a large swath of green crossing boston. but where was the rain? it never did come. that's unfortunate because i'd decided that as soon as it started pouring, i was going to head out into the woods and turn over every single rock and log looking for salamanders. so instead i stayed indoors today and watched a movie, the chumscrubber (2005), a movie recommended by julie. it reminded me a lot of heathers crossed with american beauty crossed with kids with a dash of donny darko. the reviews were for the most part negative but it was an interesting story and i kept watching. and check out this cast: jamie bell (billy elliot! all grown up), glenn close, william fichtner, ralph fiennes, rita wilson, lauren holly, and carrie-anne moss (as a MILF). none of that matters though, because the movie also has camilla belle, who is so beautiful that now i want to see all her movies.

the tulips are sprouting and now one has even flowered...except they're all growing sideways because i don't get enough sunlight in my kitchen. at least they're safe from marauding cantabrigian squirrels. i had two krispy kreme donuts for breakfast and two hot dogs for lunch. after the red sox game i heated up a toaster oven pizza (so sad, i know) and watched an episode of hustle on AMC. throughout the day i was working on my washington DC weblog entries.
