2006

i was scheduled to burn up in a fiery ball of flames through the workosphere, but alas, right at the end of the day, we were granted a reprieve with a new monday deadline. this is both a good thing and a bad thing; good because we could definitely use a little more time to give the product some polish, but bad because the pain will be extended for a few more days. fortunately i got most of the bugs fixed today, but there will always be more bugs. i was working off of adrenalin the whole day. i didn't have anything to eat, just some corn bread and some sunflower seeds. i paced the house nervously, feeling sick, trying to figure out the solutions in my head, pulling at my hair. i kept on looking at the clock, counting off the minutes and then the hours. it didn't help that the weather today was gloomy, so the day was in a perpetual state of twilight.

soon after i received word that we weren't shipping today, i stopped working and jumped into the bathroom for a hot soak. i stayed in the bathoom long enough for the water to turn lukewarm. i got dressed and hurried to the super market to buy some groceries. i was going to have ramen for dinner again but the frozen food aisle beckoned invitingly. i wanted something hearty and something cheap, and ended up getting one of these on-cor family meals, a 2lbs. lasagna brick for $3. it took an hour to heat in the oven, and i finally had my first meal of the day close to 10pm. the lasagna was bland but i was so hungry it probably tasted better than it should've. i saved a quarter for lunch tomorrow.

some olympics, some katamari, some reading ("devil in the white city"), and then it's off to bed. friday couldn't come soon enough.
