what's there to say? i was working the whole day. by day's end i still wasn't done, even though the client was presenting to their client tomorrow morning. i'd been sending incremental updates via ftp, and letting them know what was going to happen, that given the limited amount of time, and the fact that i only just received all the assets this week, there was no way i could have it ready by today.

in the evening julie and i went to a lecture on data visualization using flash at MIT. 5 minutes into the talk and i was already bored. the only interesting part was at the end, when the speaker talked about the future of data visualization (things like actionscripting v3.0 and ajax) and some coding tips. what was really interesting about the lecture was i saw kristine and jonathan there. kristine i know from squid country safari, jonathan's paula's husband who i know from SRM, and i was with julie who worked with me at screen house - it was a merging of three different worlds. kristine sat right in front of me and didn't even recognize me; she left the lecture early before i had a chance to say hello. i did chat briefly with jonathan afterwards though.

for dinner, julie and i walked down to emma's pizza (kendall square). it took her forever to order, and she ended up going with the make-your-own-pie option (an expensive $20+ large pizza). i debated going large myself, but decided to opt for the small, which at 12" was still a pretty decent size. neither of us could finish and we ended up taking our unfinished slices home. (here's something freaky: check out the names of the couches on this exact day 3 years ago)

as soon as i got back home, i drove out to my parents' place so they could go over some things with me before they leave for taiwan tomorrow morning (i'm waking up at 6am to take them to the airport, my second time this week). once i got back to cambridge again, i checked my e-mail to see that the client didn't send me any feedback regarding the incremental updates. that could be a bad sign, but at least it means i don't have to work tonight. i need to rest anyway, my cough isn't getting any better.
