i am cold. i am sleepy. my hands, the tip of my nose, my feet, they're like ice. all i want to do is to take a hot shower and go to bed early. it's 58 degrees inside my house and dropping. i couldn't take it anymore today (i felt particular bad for my exchange student, not used to the frigid weather), i put up the curtains between the foyer and the living room, vacuumed all the forced-air heating grates, and went down into the basement to fire up the furnace. good news: the pilot light stayed lit (that was the problem i had last year). bad news: the fan that blows warm air to all parts of my house won't start. so looks like tomorrow morning i'll be giving nstar a call. good thing i'm still under the $125/annual heating protection insurance (covers labor and parts), which lasts until the end of october.

i spent the day engrossed in the prison break marathon on fx (all 7 episodes thus far), such a great show. i never knew i was such a fan of prison drama. back when i still had HBO, i watched every episode of oz. two things arrived in the mail yesterday (that i forgot to mention): my travel brochure to tahiti and my complimentary copies of a children's book about water that i contributed a photograph to. i was under the impression it was a non-profit venture, but i think i got tricked, because the publishing company is definitely going to make some money off of the book. it's not a big deal, a freebie for the kids - canadian kids no less (the publishing company is based up north).

jawei returned home from doing some solo shopping in downtown filene's today (he had a reusable coupon that discounted an additional 15% off of anything in the store). in the evening i drove us to my parents' for some dinner (i still had the car from last night), before we got a ride back to cambridge, to watch game 2 of the world series.
