with 2 project deadlines today, i was confined to the house today. both were pretty much done, i just had to be available in case of last minute coding emergencies. however, when i woke up this morning, it seemed there weren't any fires yet, so i stole an hour to call up my father so we could bring the double ladders back to belmont. after i was done with that, i came back home and went out running. in the evening i met up with my friend gary. we drove to hudson, new hampshire, to pick up his mother (visiting his brother's family for the week). gary's two small niece and nephew were afraid to come out and meet "the stranger" but would occasionally curiously peek around the corner. after we dropped off his mother in cambridge, we went to brookline center to have dinner at dok bua, this thai restaurant that gary swears is the best thai he's ever had. their menu is just a big photo album, and a wall decorated with a forest scene is actually a bank of hidden refrigerators. we ordered three dishes: the fat noodles wasn't anything special, the red curry was promising, but the thai fried rice was good enough that i wanted to order another one to bring home.
