by the end of saturday night, the red sox was on the verge of elimination, down 0-3 against the yankees. the win yesterday (sunday) was sweet, but it seemed more like a moral victory, like the red sox would still lose eventually, but at least we wouldn't get swept. after tonight's win though, things are a little different. the idea of coming back and winning the next 2 games to advance to the world series doesn't seem that farfetched anymore. it all depends on whether curt schilling is well enough to really pitch tomorrow. how long was this game? 5 hours? felt like two games in one, and i thought the game we had yesterday was long! dave roberts is awesome, he's my new favorite player now, the scrappy base stealer. and ortiz delivers again, he's so clutch. oh, and the best thing was mariano rivera costing the yankees another save. and who was the starting pitcher? pedro martinez! he pitched pretty well. i have to admit, i didn't think the red sox were going to win this one. once the yankees were on top late in the game (regular innings), i was already writing the red sox obituary in my weblog, but then the red sox came back.

i started the morning with a thin layer of programming (for SRM), followed by some lunch in front of the television (leftover calamari and salad), then i spent most of the day washing the windows and vacuuming the forced air heating vents, in preparation for the winter (10 windows, 7 vents). i wanted to turn on the heat today, but i still have a few more windows to wash and a few more vents to vacuum. in the late afternoon with the weather still nice, i went to cvs to pick up a prescription, followed by the somerville target to buy some detergent and an electric toothbrush (a braun oral-b 950tx). i have nothing against regular toothbrush but i heard that electric toothbrush get your teeth cleaner, and it seems more and more people use them, so i wanted to experience it for myself. when i came back to cambridge i made sure i parked the motorcycle on the other side of the street since there'd be street cleaning tomorrow on my side. once the game started at 5pm, i was a captive audience member. during a commercial break i was able to race into the kitchen and microwave a chicken pot pie for dinner.

preparing for bed, i used the electric toothbrush for the very first time. it feels just like going to the dentist. i was disoriented at first, i'm not used to sticking vibrating objects into my mouth. also the fact that i don't have to brush anymore (it's more of a pointing tool) will also take some time to get used to. afterwards my teeth did feel cleaner, but that might be a placebo effect. it does spice up the boring task of teeth brushing though. now i want to brush as often as possible just so i can play with the electric toothbrush!
