DEC

01

2001

a day that should've been spent outside enjoying the unseasonably warm weather turned out to be a fairly depressing day of nothingness. i spent all day fighting my natural compulsion to procrastinate versus work related stuff i had promised to do over the weekend. when the decree was called yesterday for a push and an increase in work production, that essentially null and voided my next few weekends. thinking about the month of december in terms of work, just casually drifting into it in my mind, makes me cringe. again. oh well, until i can change, this is the life i currently lead, might as well make the best of it.

i planned on waking up early this morning to go running, but i didn't wake up until 2pm today (i had good reasons, i went to bed last night at 6am). by the time i got up, there was only 2 hours of workable daylight left before the "day" would be over. the only time i went outside today was to retrieve the mail from the mailbox and to take a walk in backyard to survey the garden conditions.

the one and only exciting thing i did today was to watch the celtics-nets game where paul pierce scored 2 points in the first half but then totally dominated for the second half to score 46 points. one of the best games ever! first half, it looked like it'd be a celtics loss, with the team down in a deep hole. when i turned back to it in the second half however, the c's slowly came back and paul pierce went into the zone. will the celtics be playoff bound this season? too early to tell, but paul pierce is definitely building his own chapter of celtics' legends.
