just thinking about what i did earlier tonight makes me shiver. i went running and through some serious negotiating and sweet talking i managed to draw out amanda garnier from her foxhole and join me. she was reluctant because it was cold. i convinced her otherwise. i was wrong. it was cold. it wasn't so bad when we started running because we warmed up, but along with the cold there was a really strong wind which made things a little worse. on top of it all, i didn't think the sun would be eclipsed by a covering of thick clouds. when we left the office it was dusky and when we came back it was already dark. it was the least crowded run we've ever had, hardly anyone else was out on the charles with the temperature as it was and the amount of daylight down to a minimum. it wouldn't be so bad if we were dressed properly, but i wore nothing but my short shorts and a t-shirt. amanda at the very least had pants on.

after i returned from my run and went back upstairs to settle down with my work once again, amanda rawson aim'ed me. i asked for her number and called her back on the phone. thus began a weird fusion of aim and telephone. neither one of us could do both, but we'd say something on the phone and type out the response via aim. it was very surreal. to simultaneously use both forms of communication, i can't say which one i rather prefer. at least with aim you can get a text transcript of the conversation, but a telephone definitely sounds more alive. we made plans to meet either late friday night or early sunday and bid each other good bye.
